HYPERHIDROSIS

Botox injections, also known as botulinum toxin injections, are an FDA-approved treatment for hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating. Botox works by blocking nerve signals that tell sweat glands to produce sweat, resulting in less sweating in the injected area. Botox is often used to treat hyperhidrosis in the underarms, hands, feet, and face, and can be an effective treatment when topical medications don't work.  According to the International Hyperhidrosis Society, people who receive Botox injections have found excessive sweating decreases by more than 85%. Side effects of the treatment can include pain, swelling and bruising at the injection site.

At Feeling 22 Aesthetics we provide UNDERARM treatments only at this time.

Here's some more information about Botox for hyperhidrosis:

  • How it works

Botox injections for hyperhidrosis don't require any special care or recuperative time. The injection process involves circling the affected area with a surgical marker, cleaning the area, and then marking injection points 1.5–2 cm apart. The recommended dosage is 50 units per axilla.

  • Results

Most patients notice less sweating within 7–10 days of treatment, and the results can last up to 10 months in the underarms. However, results can vary by person and area treated, and nerves regenerate over time, so retreatment is typically needed every 4–6 months.
